Oh man, this movie was just one big yawn and you guessed it, I fell asleep before the end. However, I was watching this right on the heels of "Aberdeen" so it was a refreshing change.
The Parole Officer is a romantic comedy and it is humerous. Lena plays somebody whose name I cannot recall at the moment, but she's a police officer and naturally she looks really great in uniform. Lena's really not in this film a whole lot but the parts she does are very good. In this role she has a romantic relationship with a bumbling parole officer who for reasons I cannot recall decides to enlist the help of a few of his paroled clients to rob a bank not for money but in order to obtain some sort of evidence that will exonerate him from being blamed for a murder which he witnessed but had no role in. (how's that for a run on sentence?)
The movie is cute and it is funny, not very funny, just funny. Brittish humor. I felt that this movie was SLOW, it seemed like hours and hours to me. In all fairness I was watching it way too late and I get bored easilly. Where as with "Aberdeen" and "Lost and Delirious" I was glued to my chair, my eyes never leaving the screen, with this movie I was up and about, doing the dishes, chatting with my cat, trying so hard to stay awake....when I have another chance, I will rewatch.
